I was in the original cast of “Lili Marlene” at St. Luke’s Theater! This show is set in Germany during the Nazi Party’s rise to power. It centers on a Jewish cabaret singer - Rosie Penn - and her relationship with a Count.
The Count’s royal family is featured in the story as they experience acts of violence and hate - ultimately attempting to escape Germany for safety. I played the Count’s nephew, Jacob. Torn between the will of his cautious sister and the example set by his daring, outspoken brother, Jacob is forced to grow up quickly and must decide how he will stay afloat in these terrible times.
We brought the audience on an emotional and heartfelt journey each night. The show had a limited run, however. it extended multiple times! Originally, it was only set to run for a couple of months and instead ran for a couple years! The show is currently in further development.
